A BEAUTIFUL two bedroom San Francisco Victorian flat is available for Swap. My sunny and spacious flat occupies the entire top floor of a restored Victorian. It has the charm of an old Victorian (it was built in the 1880's) but the comfort and polish of a recently-renovated home. It is in very good condition - recently redone hardwood floors, fresh paint, an extremely large and sunny contemporary kitchen with seating area and a view of the backyard, a balcony where you can drink tea and look out onto the backyard fruit trees (or take the spiral staircase to go pluck a fig). The flat has an open floor plan and gets tons of light. In addition to the two bedrooms and kitchen there is a sunny living room with comfy furniture and a dining room with a wood-burning gas stove. It's a peaceful flat on a quiet tree-lined street. At the same time you are in the Mission District, the sunniest neighborhood in San Francisco, and are within a few blocks of a grocery store, public transport ation, lively night life, great restaurants and cafes, yoga studios, a park, and neighborhood theaters. I'm open to house swapping (no pets or smoking please). If you have an idea, please email the Gazette at XXXXX with House Swap in the subject line
HOUSESITTER WANTED in Oxfordshire starting in the middle of November for four weeks. We need someone to stay with our rather demanding elderly cat when we need to be visiting the US. My husband is American. Our cat, Mischief, is 16 and likes company and to not have any internal door shut! She also likes to sleep on the bed with you. I thought I would put that 'up front' so that you can make an informed decision. We live in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds and we are 17 miles from Oxford, and an hour and a quarter by train from London. We are close to Blenheim Palace (eight miles), and Bath is about 50 miles and takes about one hour 40 minutes by car. We live in a tiny stone cottage with views over Oxfordshire and have a Bronze Age burial mound behind the cottage in a meadow used by cows. This is a very rural village with a community shop and post office. Alas the pub is closed but we are in the middle of a campaign to save The Fox pub from being converted into housing. There will be another Chinese pub/restaurant open in a few weeks. The cottage has been modernized and has central heating and a log burning stove. For more information, please email XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
