VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES available at XXXXX on the South Pacific coast of Costa Rica. XXXXXXXX is a holistic retreat and guest house surrounded by Permaculture-inspired gardens and tropical fruit orchards offering a natural setting for healing, cleansing, and learning. Our farm is surrounded by rugged mountains of virgin old growth forest that rise above the lonely coconut fringed beaches below. Several crystalline creeks and rivers carve through the mountains creating an abundance of mystical waterfalls, translucent swimming pools, and healing spring water. Diverse species of native plants and wildlife abound. Tropical birds are especially abundant. Biting insects are fortunately nearly non-existent. We are a not-for-profit organization promoting sustainable solutions and a simple symbiotic lifestyle. We are open to volunteers who are wholeheartedly committing to this project and the purely natural style of life. Experience is not nece ssary, but very helpful. What is necessary is a desire to learn and work hard, a sense of curiosity and an ability to observe. Work includes all kinds of gardening tasks, attending guests, house maintenance, construction of new buildings, etc. We are looking for calm and conscious, heart-centered people who prefer to live in paradise without chemical substances, noise, pollution, intoxicants etc. email XXXXXXXXX XXXX at XXXXXX or visit XXXXXXXXX
HOUSESITTER WANTED in Oxfordshire starting in the middle of November for four weeks. We need someone to stay with our rather demanding elderly cat when we need to be visiting the US. My husband is American. Our cat, Mischief, is 16 and likes company and to not have any internal door shut! She also likes to sleep on the bed with you. I thought I would put that 'up front' so that you can make an informed decision. We live in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds and we are 17 miles from Oxford, and an hour and a quarter by train from London. We are close to Blenheim Palace (eight miles), and Bath is about 50 miles and takes about one hour 40 minutes by car. We live in a tiny stone cottage with views over Oxfordshire and have a Bronze Age burial mound behind the cottage in a meadow used by cows. This is a very rural village with a community shop and post office. Alas the pub is closed but we are in the middle of a campaign to save The Fox pub from being converted into housing. There will be another Chinese pub/restaurant open in a few weeks. The cottage has been modernized and has central heating and a log burning stove. For more information, please email XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
