The Login Bar is a quick and easy way to login using the form at the top of each page. Your username is usually the email address you used when you either subscribed to The Caretaker Gazette or purchased an advertisement. If you subscribed prior to December 1, 2005 you will need to create an account before you may login.
Q: Why do I want to sign-in? Is it just a gimmick to send me lots of SPAM?
Signing-in is for administrative tasks like, change of address forms, renewing your subscription, renewing your classified ad, upgrading your subscription, etc.
Also subscribers to our Caretaker.org Online will be able to download the print version of The Caretaker Gazette, and also browse online ads.
We only send email to our subscribers who wish to receive it. We do not share your email address with anyone, you can check out our privacy policy for specifics.
Q: How do I register for an account?
Either purchase an advertisement or subscription. Creating an account is part of the order process, like most other e-commerce sites.
Q: I don't trust the Internet, e-commerce, etc. Do I have to create an account if I want to subscribe?
We do our best to build a safe and secure e-commerce environment. For example some of methods we use to protect this site: we use a private webserver and database, we use a third party SSL certificate to encrypt traffic between your machine and our web server, we use custom software written just for this site. These help ensure that our site and your data is isolated.
That being said, we can always accept phone and mail orders at our Office address:
HELP WANTED on a relatively remote off-grid, solar electric, oceanfront, retreat/home in South Kona. The caretaker must have skills in the areas of tropical gardening/landscaping (includes trimming, drip irrigation, weeding, and organic maintenance; however, not a farm!), maintenance/repair, structural and mechanical, basic plumbing, electrical, seasonal wood finishing, screen repair, and knowledge of wood/hand tools. Auto maintenance and basic mechanical skills are a plus. Agility and strength and some "heavy lifting”, ladder climbing necessary. Applicants should be neat, communicate well, be willing to follow direction, and be a team player with a good work ethic. The caretaker should relate well to other staff, guests, and also be able to handle time alone. This is not for someone city oriented. Must be comfortable in a warm tropical beach/ocean environment; “outdoor" living and being close to nature. Work trade plus wages and benefits based upon commitment and experience. Owners/original designers/builders are on site and available to train and orient to all the systems and the local environment so that caretaker is able to manage our home/retreat both when the owners are home or traveling off island. The property is smoke, drug and alcohol free. Please email your information, and recent photo to caretakergazette@gmail.com and include “Hawaii Position” in the Subject Line for our forwarding purposes.
